Parents

The Parents Council is the structure through which the parents/guardians in a school can work together for the best possible education for their children.

All parents/guardians of children in the school are members of the association with a number of parents being elected to a committee.

The Parents Council works with the principal, staff and the board of management to build effective partnership between home and school.

Educational research on the involvement of parents in schools shows that children achieve better outcomes when parents and teachers work together.

Marymount has a very active Parents Council. They are affiliated to the National Parents Council (www.npc.ie) and are involved in a variety of activities to support the school.  They are always delighted to have new members.

If you are interested in becoming involved with our Parents Council please talk to the principal or the HSCL teacher who will put you in touch with the current committee.

Vicky Gregory:  Chairperson
Christine O’Donoghue: Secretary
